A Renovated Bicycle Frame Beautifully Lined Nervex Professional Lugs
Nervex Bottom Bracket
Simplex Drop outs
Made for 1963 Grand Prix Des Nations ( won by Raymond Poulidor)
Reynolds Qualite A Tubes - an exported version of very basic 531
Compete with Headset and Bottom bracket - both Stronglight but importantly both with specific french threading - meaning any chnage of BB would need to be French threading or threadless. The steer on French forks of this era require french sized items - headset and cable hanger for example. You will require a 22mm stem diameter and a 25.4mm seat post
I bought this frame in a sorry looking state - nothing major and restored to the sympathetic state you see before you. Repainted, some of the decals designed for this frame as near exact copies of originals. Such is the rarity of this model . I did find some versions of this model, none as high end as this and all different in one way or another.
My intention had been to build it up for myself but the sizing is just not quite right for me, hence the reluctant sale. I never say that :-(
The sizing suits someone 6ft or above
Forks were rechromed and lug lining hand painted
Measurements: The frame is a racing geometry or 58cm with a long reach is another description.
Top Tube Centre to Centre: 58cm
Seat Tube ; Top to Centre: 62cm & Centre to Centre: 61cm
Can be used for Gear/ Brake lever system or Downtube Shifting
Wheels Required: 27mm ideally with tubs but clinchers are also suitable. Built for centre pull brakes
Spacing for wheels : Front: 100 mm / Rear 125 mm
A racing bicycle for multi use as is evident by mudguard eyelets - common place in france for racing bikes at that time. Original tin badge was missing from frame, so unfortunately has been replaced by the modern stick on version.
Frame weight ( as in picture) 3.7kg
will require cable clips and guides for building up
UK postage = others please ask
This frame is close to 60 years old, its is without rust but you may see minor blemishes under the paint from the patina of the frame . All adding to a beautifully lived life .

A note about our used bicycles & Frames. All Items are genuine vintage and whilst in full working order, may also so show signs of age or own some distinguishing marks. As well as these signs of character there may also be some signs of rust (faint and few) and some signs of mottling on the chrome. Where possible we have tried to show these on photographs. These small imperfections are commensurate with what is expected of a bike of this age.The bikes are not new.
